212 women from the Sierra and Frailesca regions have come together to produce this coffee. Carefully hand-picked cherries, pulping, controlled fermentation, and adequate drying give this coffee a balanced cup with notes of white peach, grapes, and caramel. Mexico produces a variety of high-quality coffees; the unique flavors are created by numerous microclimates with different rainfall patterns and fertile soils throughout the country. The coffee is grown in the shade of native forest trees to support the natural ecology. Over the years, women have not only worked at home but have also taken care of the coffee farms. Thus, they have become farmers, entrepreneurs, and guardians of cultural traditions. Nevertheless, gender equality, especially in rural areas, remains a challenge. This often makes women more vulnerable, as they frequently have fewer resources, education, employment opportunities, and decision-making power.
