SUSTAINABLE RELATIONSHIPS
In the 1990s, the Andraschkos began traveling the world in search of high-quality beans to roast in Berlin. Over the years, they built strong relationships with farmers from Ethiopia to Brazil and to the Indonesian island of Sumatra, based on trust, respect, and cooperative business models. Each year, the Andraschkos travel to these countries to visit their partners and discover new farms that practice sustainable cultivation methods, environmental protection, and animal welfare.

In the world of specialty coffee, the so-called terroir is of crucial importance. This French term, meaning "region" or "area," describes the environmental factors that influence the taste of each coffee bean – such as altitude, soil type, climate, and even local flora. These natural influences shape a coffee that is deeply connected to its origin, with aromas reflecting the landscape, climate, and traditional methods of the respective farm.
From the lush highlands of Ethiopia to the fertile soils of Brazil, our coffee farmers capture the natural conditions that make each bean so unique. Those who taste coffee from these farms experience the interplay of soil composition, climate, and craftsmanship – a complexity and diversity of flavor that only the respective terroir can offer.
Only beans from farms personally selected by the Andraschkos make it into the roasters in Berlin. There, the Andraschkos take their time to optimize and carefully fine-tune each blend and single origin. Small-batch production and the selection of interesting varieties enable them to guarantee distinctive complexity and balance for every cup of coffee.
