Our Malabar Monsoon Espresso comes from India's Malabar Coast, which stretches south from Mumbai to Kerala. The area around the ancient trading city of Cochin is famous for its Monsoon Malabar, where coffee beans are processed using the monsoon method. This unique method is only used in India. It dates back to early trade, when the beans were transported to England by sailing ships and were exposed to heavy rainfall and particularly high humidity during the long sea voyage. Today, this maturation process is artificially induced by exposing the coffee to rain and wind, while it is regularly turned to develop its special aroma.
